McGuiness and Rezek to Team Australia

Two members of the Adelaide Adrenaline Ice Hockey Club are traveling with the U20 National Team to the IIHF Division II (Group B) World Junior Hockey Championships in Lograno, Spain.

Adrenaline forward and rising star Remy McGuiness will suit up in the Green and Gold while sniper Josef Rezek will join the team as an assistant coach.

The tournament runs in Spain from 7 January to 13 January. 

19-year-old Remy is making his third appearance with the national Junior team. Last year he had two assists in an injury-shortened season with the Adrenaline.

Rezek, who recently became an Australian citizen, is using this opportuntity to help further his coaching career and develop young Australian talent.

Australia will be shooting for gold in a group with Spain, Serbia, Belgium, South Korea and Mexico. Each team will play each other once and the team that finishes at the top of the group will win Gold and be promoted to Division II A. 

Last year Australia finished fifth. Remy McGuiness had one goal.

Action begins January 7 in a tough opening match for the Aussies in Spain. We will post details on how to follow along when we know them.
