The Adrenaline have signed 2023 import Andrew Hamilton and Queensland goaltender Nicholas Novysedlak to the roster ahead of a big match-up against the Melbourne Ice.
Hamilton, who scored 9 goals in 10 games in 2023, will make his return to the Adrenaline and the AIHL. While technically an import, Hamilton has lived in Adelaide for over two years and has been training with the team since day one of preseason training.
“Andrew has been training hard with the team and has earnt this opportunity”, said Adrenaline General Manager Glen Foll.
“We have some great local guys who are still classified as imports despite living in Adelaide including Jordan Freeman, Andrew Hamilton and Yoann Levesque. I’d love to see each of them get their residency status and become regulars in the lineup. This weekend I’m looking forward to seeing Hamilton out on the ice…he has a powerful shot and im confident he finds the back of the net”
Novysedlak, who has played for multiple AIHL teams throughout his career, will fly into Adelaide to provide goaltending support for the weekend.
Head Coach Jade Galbraith was positive about the roster changes ahead of the weekend.
“As we finalise the last few spots on our roster over the coming fortnight, it’s great to have a guy like Novysedlak put his hand up to fly in and provide support.”
“(Connor) Parr is a young goalie who started twice last weekend including his AIHL debut. He’s showed some really positive signs despite only being 22 and to learn from someone who’s been in this league for a long time like Novysedlak will be a great opportunity for him”
Hamilton and Novysedlak join Zach Boyle and Daniel Chen who return to the lineup after playing for the National Team. Joey MacDougall (suspension) and Julian Friederich (illness) will also return.
Tickets for both games are selling fast with very limited reserved seats available.
