Last weekend, the 2024 Adelaide Adrenaline showed a victorious 9-1 win against the Adelaide Adrenaline Alumni. This Saturday, they step into the 2024 AIHL season against the Sydney Bears at Adelaide’s IceArenA.
According to Adrenaline captain Joey Macdougall, Adelaide will be starting the season with a solid team effort. Consistency through 60 minutes will be the team’s big focus this year.
“We gave ourselves some early leads last year but got complacent and weren’t able to finish the job,” he says.
Adelaide has been working hard during the pre-season on and off the ice with a few new additions such as Josh Adkins, Kaden Elder, Rylan Toth, Ty Wright, and Daniel Koudelka – these players will be contributing into the Adrenaline’s team depth.
Forward Nathaniel Benson says that working together under a team mindset has been at the forefront of the Adrenaline’s strategy this year, and will hopefully bring them closer to the championships.
“We started training camp a lot earlier than usual and made sure that any activities we were doing, either on the ice or off, we were focused on doing those activities as a team," Benson says. “It’s been working so far because we’re all gelling really well together.”
