Five Reasons I’m Excited for the 2024 AIHL Season

 

1. IT’S FAST

Ice hockey is considered the world’s fastest team sport. It’s a game where everything can change in half a second, especially when a slapshot can travel at up to 100 miles per hour. Who wouldn’t want to watch that in real time? For a country that loves AFL so much, there's an explanation for Canadians love hockey so much and it's for a lot of the same reasons!
 

2. IT’S LOUD

350 gram sticks slapping against a rubber puck. Skate blades slicing across freshly cleaned ice. The crack of a slapshot ripping off towards the net. Echoes of fans roaring when their team scores a goal. Oh, and pretty awesome tunes from the in-house DJ to keep the energy levels up.
 

3. IT’S ROUGH

While both quick and tough, the collisions you see in footy are nothing compared to bodies crashing into the boards, especially when two rival teams like Adelaide and Melbourne are playing against each other! The emotions are always running high.
 

4. IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR

With child tickets and family memberships available, it’s never been more affordable to get your favourite people together and make some new memories at the “coolest” place in town. Head to the membership tab on our website to check out the different options available! You can even bring your little ones to meet the players after every home game next to the ice. It's a family affair on the team as well, with multiple sets of brothers playing star roles across the lineup!
 

5. IT’S LOCAL

We love supporting local, with a number of Adelaide businesses involved in the support and sponsorship of our hockey team. The AIHL also creates an exciting atmosphere that makes it easy to witness up and coming Australian talent. The Adelaide Adrenaline are a young team who have steadily improved over the years and are hungry for more victory (we beat the eventual cup champions in the last game of the season!). This has not gone unnoticed amongst their loyal fanbase so whether it’s your first Adrenaline game or your hundredth, their diehard fans will welcome you with open arms.
