The Adelaide Adrenaline are proud to announce the appointment of Rory Rawlyk as Head Coach for the 2026 AIHL season, bringing a wealth of international coaching experience and elite program development to the club.

Rawlyk joins the Adrenaline after spending the past four years coaching within the Thailand national ice hockey program, where he worked across U18, U20, Women’s and Men’s national teams. During his tenure, he competed in eight IIHF World Championships as well as the Asian Winter Games, while also leading comprehensive development programs for athletes of all ages.

During the eight IIHF World Championships where he was at the helm, Thailand achieved two Bronze, two Silver and three Gold medals

On his switch from Asia to Australia, Rory said this: “I’m excited to join the Adelaide Adrenaline organisation and for the opportunity to coach in the AIHL, I’m looking forward to working with the players and staff to develop and compete the right way, and to build off the team’s strong 2025 finish to create something everyone can be proud of.”

Rawlyk also emphasised his commitment to culture, progression, and community engagement as he begins his time in Adelaide, “With my experience in the game, I hope to help the players and team reach their goals and keep moving in the right direction, I’m also really looking forward to getting to know the fans and being part of the local hockey community.”

Following the first appointment for the 2026 season, General Manager Glen Foll had this to say: "Rory and I have been in discussions for a while and I've been really interested in getting him down here to lead the team. He's played in the league, he knows what the AIHL is about, what we're about and it's great to have him on board. From day one Rory has been engaging with players, staff and having him on board is going to be great for the club."
