Local Signing: Ben Handberg
Friday, March 24, 2023 - Submitted by Hugh Whittle

Ben Handberg is in for the 2023 Adrenaline season.

Another well known home grown talent, Ben is one of “Sami’s kids” as they’re affectionately known. He played junior national level from U13 to AJIHL, including a Syd Tange trophy in 2019 to end South Australia’s drought. Ben was set to play his first senior national level hockey with the Adrenaline in the 2020 COVID disrupted season.

Since then he has won a national title with the Adelaide Avalanche of the PHL. Also representing Australia at the U18 and U20 level 3 times in the last 5 years, winning a bronze and silver medal in the process.

Joey MacDougall commented,
“Ben is a solid two way, heads up player that likes to get physical and can push guys around in the tough areas of the ice, while also having some scoring upside. Really glad to have him on the team this year”

Ben is currently preparing under Head Coach Stu Henly for the season opener against the Perth Thunder on April 15th.

Ben is also seeking a sponsor, get in contact with us for more details!
