Joey MacDougall,  a name that has become synonymous with Adelaide ice hockey. A leader, a veteran, a fiery passion that can make any player want to run through a wall…

What has to be said about him that isn’t already known? In the last two years he has captained the Adelaide Xtreme of the NHSL and the Adelaide Avalanche of the PHL to championships. He’s the coach of the Adelaide Rush, has been a coach in the Ice Factor program, plays locally with the Adelaide Tigers.

 I’m sure if you’d told a young Joey growing up in a small Ontario town that this is what he’d be doing with his hockey, he’d tell you you’re crazy.

It’s easy to see by the way he conducts himself on and off the ice how he encourages such a strong culture in every locker room he finds himself apart of. His standards of accountability and togetherness have been vital to Adelaide’s recent success.

Joey commented on that point,

“I think that hockey culture has come a long way in SA and Australia since the last Adrenaline season. We have a great group of guys who all know their roles and are focused to bring their best every day. I’m excited to be part of the team and looking forward to the opportunity to help make this season a successful one for the Adrenaline.”
