As all hockey fans know, the end of one season means a long wait for the next. For the Adrenaline players however, summer is no time to relax. The team has been working extremely hard, under the watchful eye of Head Coach Sami Mantere, to come back bigger and better in 2020. In between all this hard work though, the players have been up to lots of interesting activities, and they are keen to let the fans know all about it!
Part 1 of our “Where The Puck Are They” series focuses on Joey McDougall, Glen Forbes-White and Ryan Foll.
Joey McDougall finished one season and started the next straight away, taking over the head coaching role (from former Adrenaline player Jamie Holland) for the Adelaide Rush. Working alongside 2019 Adrenaline Assistant Coach Corey Smith, Joey and the Adelaide Rush reached the finals, finishing off the 2019/20 season with a silver medal. This was a huge turn around for the team and a testament to the hard work and dedication from all the players and coaching staff.
Outside of hockey Joey has been working hard across two jobs and was recently featured in the Bushfire Appeal Ice Hockey Classic game to raise funds for those affected by the recent bushfires.
Joey would like to thank his player sponsor for 2020, Prue and Andy from Muirhead Property Management, who have joined as a first-year sponsor.

Adrenaline goaltender Glen-Forbes White has spent the past 6 months cutting no corners to ensure that come 18th April, he is ready to stop any pucks that might come his way. Between running and workouts at the gym, Glen is expected to return better than ever. When not training, Glen has been involved with the Adelaide Rush, offering his expertise and experience as well as travelling with the team as the goaltending coach.
If you have recently gone for a skate on the small ice surface at the IceArenA, you may have noticed how new it is! Glen is pictured here painting, alongside Adrenaline goalie and sidekick Jeremy Friederich.

Forward Ryan Foll has had a very eventful summer, here and abroad. Ryan started the summer playing cricket and was exceptional in his role as an all rounder who can’t bat and doesn’t bowl. He then took off in December to the US and Canada, spending Christmas with his family over there and getting to see his beloved Vancouver Canucks.
Ryan hasn’t stepped away from local hockey though, coaching his Adelaide Summer League team and assistant coaching the Generals in the Australian Junior Ice Hockey League. In preparation for the 2020 season Ryan has been training hard off ice, being selected in a strength and conditioning program with Flinders University Sport and Fitness. You may notice something different about Ryan this season, after his barber endured the long and arduous task cutting his famous long hair. While it will be missed, Ryan is expected to be much more aerodynamic.

Glen and Ryan are currently looking for a sponsor to assist them with the costs of participating in the 2020 AIHL season. If you want to help them out send an email to sponsorship@adelaideadrenaline.com for more information.
