Hockey Festival Lineup
Friday, April 13, 2018

t's time for our first Ol' Reds Roster announcement of the season. It's time to meet the gentlemen who will put on the Adrenaline jersey, thanks to Old Red Bricking Co, for our pre-season trip to Melbourne for the Festival of Hockey.

The Adrenaline play in a mini-tournament vs. the Melbourne Ice, Melbourne Mustangs and CBR Brave.

From 1:30PM Adelaide Time on Saturday, the Adrenaline play three "mini-games" consisting of two 15-minute periods.

While the Adrenaline are not sending a full roster, it is a strong roster of players looking to prove themselves and cement a regular shift on the team. It features a lot of players who have plied their trade in the local competition or in the junior system and are now ready to make an impact.

Here's a little bit more on each of the players:

GOALIES

#1 Jeremy Friederich (Sponsored by Tania + Jason Geyer) - 16-year-old Adrenaline debutant. He won the 2017/18 Australian Junior Ice Hockey League (AJIHL) goalie of the year.

#30 Glen Forbes White (Sponsored by Tania + Jason Geyer) - Got a small taste of the AIHL last year when he came in relief of Peter King in Perth. Won a championship with the Adelaide Generals (AJIHL) in 2016/17.

DEFENSE

#4 Corey Stringer (Sponsored by Melissa De Zwart ) - Fresh off leading the Melbourne Glaciers to AJIHL glory, Corey moved to Adelaide. He will get significant minutes this season and is working hard at improving his game. He finished second in scoring in the AJIHL.

#6 Zach Boyle (Sponsored by Tad Transformers) - At 92 games, he has the most AIHL experience of the team. This young 22-year-old South Aussie improves every year and this year he has a chance to lead a young core.

#20 Jordan Geyer (Sponsored by Matt Barrie Home Improvements) - Jordan earned his first regular shift with the team halfway through last season and never looked back. He's improving each game and finished 10th in scoring in the AJIHL from the blue line.

#34 Adam Piett (Import, Adelaide Red Wings) - An import for the Adelaide Red Wings in IHSA, Piett is given an opportunity to show what he can do. You never know what can happen in an AIHL season with our four imports coming over, so we need our "local imports" ready. He played junior hockey in Canada.

#49 Jamie Holland (Import, Adelaide Tigers) - Jamie can play forward and defense and has played eight games for the club before. Winner of last year's "Unsung Hero Award", Jamie trains constantly with the team and has a shot this weekend.

FORWARDS

#2 Brad Chenoweth (Sponsored by Morestal Powder Coaters) - Brad enters his rookie AIHL season fresh of a great AJIHL campaign where he had 22 points in 14 games. Originally an Inline player, Brad has a high hockey IQ and great hands with the puck.

#7 Ryan Foll (Sponsored by Ben Gregor Constructions) - Ryan Foll has an opportunity to show what he can do in the AIHL this season. He averaged two points per game in the AJIHL and captained the Generals two back-to-back minor premierships and one championship.

#9 Andrew Stapleton (Sponsored by Robert Rogerson Consulting) - "Staples" returns to the AIHL after a five year hiatus. He has extensive AIHL and local league experience. He is a solid two-way player and can be put in a variety of situations.

#13 Nathaniel Benson (Sponsored by Kalo Lolomanaia and Mitch Brown) - Nathaniel is another rookie who is getting his first regular AIHL shift. He finished top-six in scoring in the AJIHL and works hard to improve every element of his game.

#15 Tyler Leeming (Sponsored by Adelaide Bite) - Three straight IHSA titles has pushed Leeming to the AIHL level. He has 180 points in 46 IHSA games. He is Canadian-born but now has residency and will help lead a promising group of youngsters and try to chip in a few points of his own.

#18 Dylan Pope (Looking for a Sponsor) -  A third rookie forward. Pope played for the Generals and has really started making an impact locally for the Adelaide Falcons.

#24 Harley Anderson (Queensland) - Harley put together an impressive AJIHL campaign with the Brisbane Blitz that caught the eye of Adrenaline coaches. The 20-year-old played a season in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League and plays a good two way game. He is hoping to crack the Adrenaline roster in an AIHL opportunity that does not exist in Melbourne.

#29 Sami Mantere (Sponsored by Mirafloor) - Welcome back, coach. The Head Coach turned assistant/player steps back on the ice. He is over a point-per-game AIHL player and has experience in professional hockey in Finland.

#33 Quenton Tombleson (Looking for a Sponsor) - Hard work pays off. A gritty, hard-working, never-say-never style has earned Quenton a spot and he is one of the hardest players to play against.

#47 Ales Kratoska (Sponsored by Tad Transformers) - He moved to Adelaide for English school in 2017 and stuck around because he loved this city and team so much. Ales is our import forward this season and hopes to swing it with the best of them this season.
