The Agile Group Adelaide Adrenaline have stocked up on local depth ahead of this weekend's home opener against the defending champion CBR Brave.
Defensemen Andrew Zolotarev and Forward Kayne Fedor have signed with the club for the 2019 season.
Fedor returns to Adelaide after a season with the Sydney Bears. 23-year-old Fedor has played parts of five AIHL seasons but has yet to play a full year.
He is a former captain of the U20 Australian National Team. He's been unavailable for full-time AIHL duty because he was playing in Texas in the North American Junior Hockey League (NA3HL) and with the University of Oklahoma in the NCAA.
In 123 NA3HL games, Fedor registered 117 points. He had 6 points in 13 games with the University of Oklahoma.
Zolotarev played with the Adrenaline from 2009-2012 and briefly in 2016. He has played regular Premier League Hockey with the Falcons. He brings grit, experience and depth to the blue line. Zolotarev previously represented Australia at the U18 World Championships.
These are big additions for the club.
It means that Adelaide has a now solid defensive core with National Team Defenseman Zach Boyle, import Alex Gauthier, rookies Marcel McGuiness + Andrew Chen and the experienced Zolotarev. Kyle Neuber played defense last weekend and could still do so going forward.
Come see the Agile Group Adelaide Adrenaline take on the defending champion CBR Brave.
